Having a healthy body and a healthy mind is very important, as we all know, or at least we learn this quickly through out our lives...
For some reason it is a lot easier to be unhealthy and miserable, so I want to share with you a few ways in which I achieve or maintain a healthy body and mind:
Exercise is of course an important way to keep our bodies healthy, but I am not the kind of person who enjoys going to the gym and using all of the equipment. However, I have found ways to keep fit and build strength...
From the age of 8 I started dancing regularly: It began with ballet, tap, modern and jazz classes, and from then on dancing became a part of my life eternally!
Not only does it build and improve muscle tone, flexibility, strength and stamina, but you learn and develop important life skills, such as communication, team building, relationships, biology and anatomy. It also makes me FEEL VERY happy and allows me to express myself and release my energy positively. I can not stop smiling inside and outside! It is my easiest form of happiness and mediation. However, I have come to realise that when I am finding moments in life a little challenging, I can't always just stand up and boogie!! It's all about using the right method at the appropriate time!
Yoga reminds me of the discipline I received when I did ballet growing up. It provides my overall grounding; both physically and mentally! It gives me the opportunity to reconnect with myself - my soul, all whilist moving... dancing! And focus on who I’m working on becoming at that moment in my life.
But it also integrates mindfulness and mediation...
Yoga and meditation go hand in hand really. In fact, Yoga started as a way to prepare your body for mediation! However I find it quite challenging and when it comes to mediation my beloved ego appears and tells me:
"oh, I am just wasting more of my time and giving myself the opportunity to sit and ponder over my annoying negative thoughts..."

The problem for me has always been balance! I have always liked to have a busy lifestyle and I thought that sitting on the sofa, or even sleeping was a waste of time! Of course my body soon told me I was wrong! But putting my ego aside, the truth is, when I do give myself the time to meditate I feel connected, balanced, light, peaceful, relaxed, like I'm an energetic force in our universe! It makes me feel healthy inside and out! It works!

I am vegetarian, because for me, eating meat isn't healthy for my body or my mind.
Instead, I focus on eating fresh fruits and vegetables; staying clear of processed foods and gaining other nutrients in legumes, nuts and seeds, soy products, and whole grains. If I am eating sensibly, it is possible for me to get adequate nutrients from non–meat sources!!

Because it releases happy hormones
Because it is contagious...
showing, giving, feeling and exchanging love is what life is all about!

LOVE the ocean, the stars, the sun, the moon...
