When I was travelling I saw some beautiful places and stunning landscapes. But unfortunately I also regularly came across a lot of pollution and trash. In some cases I couldn't walk two steps without crunching a plastic bottle or rustling crisp packets or sweet wrappers under my feet. Ironically one the the worst spots for this was at the top of Rinjani Volcano at an elevation of 3,726 meters (12,224 ft) in Indonesia:
One striking memory I have in Vietnam was when I went to visit an Island called Cat Ba. It is a tourist trap that I wouldn't recommend visiting for many reasons, one being this: I was distressed to find the monkeys playing with nothing but our plastic waste!
